JUNE

The June meeting was held at Judy’s house. We had two guests, the first one showed us Queen Kahunas crazy toes and socks methods and shared a look at the book and her various socks in the working stages on needles. These are toe up socks, both worked on one circular needle at the same time. Looks fun.

The next guest was the “Village Weaver” Mary who has recently taken up spinning and wants to learn more. Welcome Mary, we hope you consider yourself a member. She is doing very well and is waiting to progress from Romney to Merino. She gives weaving lessons in her home too. The link to her blog is added on the right.

Sherry was working on her own wool, June was spinning hers, Judy was spinning some of Sherry’s wool, Diane was working on combing some shetland as well as spinning the silver merino/nylon mix in laceweight. We missed the presence of Edith and Mita and were wondering if they either were still on their trip from Memorial weekend, or if they were without power since their area was hard hit by the storms.

Judy shared her shawl she finished. She spun it from Sherry’s wool and used Diane’s pattern – a true guild project! It looked gorgeous on and felt very warm!

MAY

The May meeting was held at Diane’s house. With busy busy people we had a small crowd. Edith, Mita and Diane were present. Edith explained the sweaters they made and how the finish for the button holes were changed from the original pattern to look more finished. The sweaters were gorgeous.
